Out Standing in His Field

'Out Standing in His Field' takes a sentimental look at dementia through the eyes an elderly Saskatchewan farmer. Thomas is a lonely widower who escapes the nursing home and returns to his former wheat field searching for purpose and a sense of belonging.

There, he meets up with his late wife Ruthie from the 1970s, pregnant with their third child. His brief trip down memory lane is shattered when Ruthie disappears into the golden-hour light and his granddaughter Zoe comes to collect him.

This powerful film reminds us all about the delicate divide between reality and illusion in one's longing for home.
